Our first-class Hockey Pitch is proud to serve as the home of Oxted Hockey Club, a distinguished National Premier Division team. The club recently enjoyed its most successful season to date in 2024/25, narrowly missing out on qualification for European competition. Hosting a team of this calibre not only reflects the quality of our facilities but also provides inspiration and aspiration for all those who take part in Hockey at Caterham school.

Meet our new coach joining us soon - Nick Page!

I am delighted to be joining Caterham School as the new Hockey Academy Manager, following my time at Tormead School where I worked as a Hockey Professional. I bring a blend of playing and coaching experience, and I’m excited to help shape the development of the Hockey Academy across both the junior and senior programmes.

My journey in hockey began when I was seven years old, and my enthusiasm for the game grew steadily throughout my school years. As a Sport Scholar at Loughborough University, I balanced academic life with high-performance hockey, finishing my four years with two BUCS gold medals and receiving Loughborough Sport Colours. Domestically, I enjoyed a successful period with Old Georgians HC, where from 2020 to 2023 I helped the club secure two Premier League titles and the England Hockey Cup. Internationally, I have represented Ireland 67 times, competing at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, in the FIH Pro League, and earning a Silver Medal at the Nations Cup in 2022.

Joining Caterham marks a meaningful and exciting step for me. I look forward to building a programme grounded in enjoyment, consistency and long-term development. My coaching approach focuses on building confidence and fostering a genuine love for the game, ensuring pupils of all abilities feel supported and appropriately challenged. Having balanced academic pressures with sporting commitments myself, and having seen how young players develop through different stages of their journey, I hope to create a thoughtful and well-structured pathway for every pupil.

Working alongside the existing staff, I aim to bring greater continuity across age groups and strengthen the connection between the junior and senior hockey programmes. I hope to offer pupils a clear sense of direction while helping maintain the inclusive and encouraging environment that Caterham families value. I’m excited to contribute my experience, humility and enthusiasm to the community.

I’m very pleased to be joining Caterham School and look forward to the impact I hope to make as I begin my work at Caterham and across the family of schools.

Premier League and International Hockey Player

HOCKEY ACADEMY – SCHOOL YEARS 3-8

Every Tuesday evening (term time only) 5.30pm to 7.00pm
Caterham School Hockey Academy gives players the chance to improve their hockey in a challenging and fun environment on a regular basis by offering weekly evening hockey sessions for players in years 3-8. The Tuesday evening sessions would benefit players of all abilities.

HOCKEY ACADEMY – SCHOOL YEARS 9-11

For more experienced players, a dedicated coaching session runs alongside the main sessions. This focuses on developing higher-level skills, tactical understanding, and more advanced match play. This is suitable for more advanced players playing at school A team level looking for selection to JAC, JDC and Performance Centre Level.

BACK TO HOCKEY – AGES 18+ YEARS

Monday morning (term time only) 8.45am – 9.45am

Our Back to Hockey group has been running since October 2016. This friendly and vibrant group welcome players of all abilities. If you are someone who is returning to the sport after many years or you are totally new to the sport, this session provides you with the basic skills and confidence to pick up a stick. With training all year round, occasional fixtures against local clubs and regular social events, it is a great opportunity to get involved in hockey again.

HOLIDAY CAMPS

Hockey Academy camps run during all school holidays including half term holidays and are open to all ages and abilities. Camps are led by our Academy Coaches and other National Premier League and international hockey players and coaches.
